To develop the training standards on science teachers in Xinjiang primaryschool is based on international perspective and practical needs of the developmentof science teacher standards and the status of science teachers’ training in Xinjiangprimary school. It has guiding significance to optimize and promote the quality ofscience teacher’s training and also to play a positive role on the professionaldevelopment of science teacher in Xinjiang primary school.The methodologies used in this thesis are literature and survey research. In partone, the study analyzes and evaluates the current teacher standards at home andabroad, finds something we can learn to construct the training standards on scienceteachers of primary school in Xinjiang and makes definition of the core concepts inthis research. In part two, it elaborates the theoretical foundation of the constructionof the training standards on science teachers of primary school in Xinjiang, whichincluding the theoretical foundation of standards construction, the research situationon professional quality of primary school teacher, science teacher and bilingualteacher at home and abroad. And then it concludes that professional knowledge,professional skill and professional attitude or science literacy, educational literacyand bilingual literacy constitute the professional quality of science teacher inXinjiang primary school. Part three focuses on the realistic basis of the constructionof the training standards on science teachers of primary school in Xinjiang. It isfound that science teachers of primary school in Xinjiang have the characteristics oflow professional quality, big differences among them; in general, their professionaldevelopment is in the transition stage that is from the graduated teacher to theproficient teacher. The results come from statistics analysis of the survey on theprofessional quality of scientific backbone teachers in primary school of Xinjiangand science teachers’training needs in primary school of Xinjiang eight city counties.Part four is to determine the basis of training standards, which is to highlight theXinjiang’s regional characteristic and the characteristic of science disciplines,consider the diverse cultural differences and reflects the characteristic of teacher’sprofessional development in “Adaption and Exploration Stage” by combing thetheoretical and practical basis. Based on the research and the teacher standards athome and abroad, the training standards are divided into two parts, which is trainingcontent and training recommendation. The study gives some advices for teachers’training. It gives some advices on the adequacy of training content, the specific oftraining form and the feasibility of evaluation method. The aim of the study is to promote the development and issuance of the trainingstandards of science teachers in Xinjiang primary school. Also gives some advicesfor primary school teachers’training in Xinjiang.
