Androgyny refers to that an individual not only has the obvious male personality characteristics, but also has obvious female personality traits, such as strong and gentle, decisive and meticulous, etc, and he can has proper performance according to the different circumstances. With the development of society and the progress of civilization, androgyny increasingly welcomed by people. At the same time, most of the existing studies on androgyny prove that it is an excellent and ideal personality mode. So more and more countries have begun to focus on "androgyny education". However, at present, studies on androgyny mainly concentrated in the student, and there are few studies which concentrated in the teacher’s androgyny.The teaching style is an important issue that can not be ignored in educational theory, and it has direct impact on the educational effect. At the same time, studies have proven that the teachers’ personality characteristic is an important factor to influence their teaching styles. But at present the existing studies on the relationship between the teachers’ personality characteristics and their teaching styles divide the personalities according to the Eysenck’s personality dimensionality or to the Big Five Personality, and almost few to the gender role.In consideration of the above, the author chooses to study the androgyny of teachers and its influence on their teaching styles. This study bases on the method of questionnaire survey, and primary and secondary school teachers are the research object. It studies the androgyny teachers’status quo and teaching style. The results show that:(1) Overall, the distribution of the types of gender role of the primary and secondary school teachers is not balanced, and there are significant differences;(2) The distribution of the types of gender role in primary and secondary school teachers is influenced by gender, teaching grade, teaching age, professional rank, school district and the nature of school, but not influenced by teaching subject. However, different demographic variables’ influence on different types of gender role is different, and androgyny is mainly influenced by teaching grade, teaching age, professional rank and the nature of school;(3) The general characteristics of the primary and secondary school teachers’teaching style is that it is inclined to Legislative, Radical and Judicial and deviated from Conservative and Executive;(4) The primary and secondary school teachers’teaching style is significantly different on the different types of gender role. The teachers of androgyny have higher scores in a variety of teaching styles than the undifferentiated, feminine and masculine;(5) The types of gender role and the teaching styles of primary and secondary school teachers have a relationship;(6) The characteristics of gender role of the primary and secondary school teachers have a certain role in the formation of their teaching styles, especially androgyny has close relationship with the formation of a variety of teaching styles.
