Ever since its implementation began, the8th fundamental educationcurriculum reform of P.E. has made phase achievements, during which time, however, it has raised questions as well. Having a deep insight into thedoubts and problems encountered in the reform and figuring out effectivesolutions for them is of great significance for the implementation ofcurriculum standards within Guangzhou or even the whole country. Thisthesis makes a brief analysis of the mainstream and modification of thisreform by employing multiple research methods such as documentation, interview, observation and questionnaire. And based on the above analysis, this thesis mainly focuses on the overall status of the implementationof middle schools curriculum standards within Guangzhou, including:1.the measures taken in the8th fundamental education curriculum reform ofP.E. in Guangzhou;2. the status and progress of the implementation ofcurriculum standards;3. The difficulties and confusion occur during theimplementation process.Based on the research and analysis, this thesis comes to the followingconclusions:1. The implementation is not satisfactory, especially inevaluation mode, teaching arrangement, teaching plan, school-basedcurriculum development, etc.2. In general, the students have a constantlystrengthened sports consciousness, which their positive participation insports during extracurricular time can demonstrate.3. P.E. entrance exambrings grave impact on the implementation of the curriculum standards. Many schools train the students for the sake of the exam, which go againstthe requirements of the new curriculum standards.4. A majority of P.E.teachers have a comprehensive understanding of the curriculum standardsand their teaching concepts have changed accordingly. However, a smallnumber of teachers just have a halfway understanding of the new curriculum due to the lack of training and the lack of self-learning awareness.5.Due to the restrictions of space and funds, some schools can just buildsports field in unreasonable structure and lack equipments. In order to solve the above issues, this thesis puts forward somesuggestions:1.Schools should strictly stick to the curriculum standardsand requirements: arrange enough P.E. classes; make plans for semestersand sections. Make sure that all these plans are transferred intodocumentation and turn over to corresponding departments.2. Improve andperfect the P.E. entrance exam. Refer to the evaluation mode of newcurriculum standards, include the evaluation of knowledge and skills inthe P.E. entrance exam evaluation. Besides, employ multiple evaluationmethods such as formative and relative evaluation.3. Education sectorshould dedicate to different kinds of training and commutation activitiesand make sure every teacher are involved. In this way, the teachers canimprove their teaching abilities and the ability to achieve the goal ofmental health and social adaptation.4. Government sectors should conductcomprehensive researches for the school sports facilities and equipments, and help schools to solve relevant issues.
