The process of city plays an important role in the country’seconomy.Guangzhou,as one of the modernize city in the south of China,rural-urban fringezone became the product with the characteristics of the times under the impact of marketeconomy.Arithmetical operation is very important for the mathematics classroomespecially in the junior middle school. Learning any mathematical knowledge isinseparable from the operation,Mathematical operation ability as one of the three basicmathematical ability,cultivating students’ operation ability is the requirement of qualityeducation in our country.Methods of improving students’ mathematical operation ability isobviously very urgent and necessary combining the current situation of junior middleschool students mathematical operation ability combined with the Guangzhou urban andrural areas.It’s provided with the important practical significance.This paper mainly used the literature research method and experimentalanalysis.According to the literature and combined with my own teaching experience andthinking for the several years,I researched the present situation of junior middle schoolstudents’ mathematical operation ability combined with the research of Guangzhou urbanand rural areas by using the method of questionnaire, interview and test,as well asanalyzing the influencing factors.And then explore the training strategy which is suit for it.This paper is divided into six parts.The first part introduced the main problems ofthe research background, purpose, significance and research.Put forward the necessity ofthe questions and research.The second part summarized domestic researches on the theoryand research productions aboutstudents’ mathematical ability and operation ability of urban and rural.The third partresearched about the grade eight students’ mathematical operation ability throughquestionnaire, interview and test.It also analyses the problem-solving process.The fourthpart mainly analyzed the reasons of the effect on junior middle school students’mathematical operation ability in rural-urban fringe zone of Guangzhou about the testresults,combined with interviews to teachers and students from two aspects of the objectivefactors, subjective factors such as teaching students.The fifth part discussed thecountermeasure to cultivate mathematics ability of junior high school students from severalaspects,such as strengthen the learning of basic knowledge and operational skillstraining,the rationality of mathematical operations,mathematical operationflexibility,Simple arithmetic and pay attention to students’ non-intelligence factors.Thesixth part summarized the research and put forward for further exploring problems.
