With the rapid development of science and technology, and the gradual improvement in the level of modernization, the requirements of teaching is gradually enhanced.In China, with the implementation of quality education and the deepening of the new curriculum for the junior high school geography teaching, in view of the current junior middle school geography classroom teaching, the educational experts and scholars as well as the first-line Geography teachers are actively looking for suitable teaching strategies. The key points of the educational theories with teaching practice as well as the realization of the goals of innovation education are the teaching strategies. Therefore, the important indicator to measure the effectiveness of teaching and the level of teaching art is that the geography teachers in junior school are able to find and use creative teaching strategies. Effective teaching not only inherits and deepens the effective teaching theories of domestic and foreign research and empirical studies, but also can enrich our teaching theories, provide schools and teachers with teaching strategies reference and give teaching instruction.In the junior high school geography teaching, many geography teachers have some difficulties in mastering and using the teaching strategies, which has a great impact on the effectiveness of geography classroom teaching. In this paper, comb the connotation and characteristics of effective teaching of junior high school geography class and the basic principle. At the same time, anaylze the current state of the effective teaching of junior high school geography class. Twenty-six geography teachers and400students in junior high school from Nansha District conducted a survey.With the help of many years’teaching, have a deep understanding of the geography class effective teaching in Nansha District.Furthermore, analyze the current condition, study the reason of the problems which exist in geography lessons in junior high school and put forward relevant proposals.
