In recent years, early childhood English education continues to develop, along with the child English materials market also developed. In order to obtain benefits,Many textbook publishers enter into the child English textbook market constantly. More and more foreign materials continuous influx of China’s market. Teaching level and the preparation of the uneven level of national education supervision department has not yet issued a standard for early childhood English materials in written, introduction and evaluation, making the market early childhood English materials cohabitation. There is a large number of good material for young children learning English in textbook market. Each textbook has its own written ideas, there are many merits of advantage, but there are major problems on the textbook content selection and compilation of teaching materials, so it is not very suitable for young children, select appropriate materials become a daunting task. Especially the entry of foreign materials, can not be denied that foreign materials has its special advantages, but because of different cultural traditions and social background, and we can not mechanically copy and use with foreign materials; in order to adapt to China the actual situation,we need study the localization of foreign materials.This study selected two sets of young children English materials as an object of study, a set of local textbook and a set of foreign materials, text analysis and comparison of the two sets of materials, from the two dimensions of the design and content, use of child language data exchange system (CHILDES) analysis the teaching content depth, comparing the two sets of materials on writing different characteristics, absorb the essence of and propose appropriate education proposals. Studies have shown that foreign materials better than the local textbook in the form of design, more innovative awareness than of local materials, foreign materials pay more attention to the role the illustrations and operation of early childhood English education, focusing on the development of young children various capacities; the native teaching materials emphasized language learning of knowledge, local materials content more difficult than foreign materials.
