A Study On Tourism Educators In Chinese Private Colleges

Tourism education in private colleges and universities is both a crucial part of tourismhigher education in China and the main base of supplying the talents of tourism. The teachingquality directly affects the quality of practitioners, and then influences the development oftourism industry. As the leaders of tourism professional teaching, teachers play a decisive rolein the whole teaching process. But how do we realize the teachers’ structure optimization andimprove teachers’ teaching ability? How do we change the traditional management of theeducation department and non-government colleges to build a creative external environmentfor teachers’ professional development and arouse teachers’ work enthusiasm and initiative? Itis not only the key to resolve the slow development and downsizing of tourism, but also anecessary way to improve the education quality and the reputation of private colleges. Thispaper mainly researches the common problems in the improvement of tourism professionalfaculty in private colleges and universities.The thesis analyzes the present situation and the common problems in building theprofessional tourism faculty of Chinese private colleges using the questionnaire survey andinterview method. It also points out many problems and defects containing both the reasonswhy security system is imperfect and why the structure of teachers is unreasonable that existin the construction of professional tourism faculty in private colleges. In those factors,teachers’ age, unreasonable education background and low education ability are the primarycauses of sluggish tourism development of private colleges and universities. Therefore, thisresearch is very necessary and feasible. Referring to the relevant theoretical research, thepaper analyzes the current situation, existing problems and reasons deeply of the constructionof tourism professional teachers in China and puts forward targeted and actionablesuggestions combining with the characteristics of tourism major and private colleges, so thatthey can provide new ideas and thoughts for professional faculty development in privatecolleges and universities.
