Private colleges and universities as a new type of school,has been developed for decades in the Chinese education system.With a new round of reform of the education system,many vocational colleges were upgraded to become application-oriented universities,as many of Chinese universities have been doing in China,which demonstrates that application-oriented universities have become an important carrier of popular education in China.However,how to strengthen the faculty teaching ability of application-oriented universities has become a new research topic.In this thesis,taking YT College that is in the reform and development as a research example for this study,it is studied how to construct faculty team who are in line with region economic development and generation of upgrading needs and how to train faculty in the transformation of private colleges and universities,especially,in the application-oriented universities.Initially,in this thesis the current education of private colleges and universities throughout China has been described,a number of relevant domestic and foreign literatures are analyzed,relevant concepts are defined,and human resource management and education theories from two aspects are described for the theoretical basis of this thesis as well.Through three phases before,in,and after the transformation,taking YT College that is one of private colleges and universities as a study target,the status of faculty,the problems,and the reasons are discussed before the transformation.It is a common issue in the structure of faculty in the private colleges and universities that teachers are young,senior teachers are lacked,teachers move in and out frequently,and teachers are paid with low salary and so on.After 10 years of development,in order to meet market needs,colleges immerged with secondary schools,which indicates the beginning of transformation from private colleges and universities to application-oriented universities.In such transition,the construction of teams of teaching staff is different from the original construction,therefore,in this thesis,the requirements and planning principles are pointed out,and two different levels of educational levels are comparatively analyzed.Eventually,after several years of upgrading and transformation,the college becomes a real application-oriented college.In this level,the planning and development of faculty team encountered new problems,and in this thesis theses issues and solutions at this stage are discussed in detail.
