Higher vocational education is a vital part of the modern national education system in China, which is a part of higher education as well as vocational education. This paper is to study the psychological states of vocational college students and analyze the affecting factors and finally provide some scientific and effective measures which should be taken. It is necessary for colleges to carry out the work of student’s psychological health education smoothly and is also significant to improve students’psychologically healthy level and promote their vocational and social adaptive ability.Students in higher vocational colleges is at the important stage in life development. They are who desire to be appreciated by others. It becomes a very urgent requirement to establish and keep good human relationship and own true love and friendship. However, it is well known that the following factors including the students’ immature personality development,a weak ability of self-regulation and control, the relatively closed campus environment,the tedium of campus life and the intense the jobs competitive pressure make them anxiety,weariness and fear. Therefore,by means of questionnaire investigation and interview of the psychological health situation and influence on students from vocational colleges, the author of this paper chooses the students from several vocational colleges in Jiujiang Jiangxi as study objects and moreover puts forward the corresponding countermeasure.This research includes four parts:Part One. Introduction. First, this paper describes the cause, the aim and significance of this study. Then it tentatively defines the concept and criteria of mental health. Finally it engages in some detailed analyses and comments on the present situation and affecting factors on vocational college students’ mental health based on the existing theories.Part Two. A survey and analysis on mental health status of vocational college students. This paper proposed the research hypotheses and contents and also carried out statistical analysis on the result. The sample investigation is the students from Jiujiang vocational and technical college, Jiangxi vocational college of finance and economics and Jiujiang vocational university.300students with questionnaire have been investigated and the survey data has been compiled and analyzed and each variable also has been compared.Part Three.The problems, features and causes of vocational college students’ mental health. According to the students questionnaire investigation, the author concluded the problems, features of college students’ mental health and probed into the reason which produces the psychological problem. The reasons have been thought included the students individual thought, the school and social environment stress and the factors of family support.Part Four. The intervention measures are put forward for vocational college students’ mental health, including creating perfect personalities and improving students’ social ability;enriching campus culture and creating a good campus environment; improving family atmosphere and providing the effective family support; enhancing psychological health education of college students.
