Study On The Co-relationship Among Parental Rearing Styles Of College Students And Time Management Disposition And Social Adaptation

This paper is studying the relationship between parenting styles of college students, time management tendencies and social adaptability.Modern society is increasingly competitive, so social adaptability of students is raised new challenges.Basing on previous literature,studies have found that parenting styles and the student’time management tends to affect the college adaptability.In this paper, the relationship between parenting styles, time management disposition and adaptability of college students is studied so that the parents recognize what kind of parenting styles on children’s healthy growth is beneficial. It is beneficial to children to form good social adaptation and to give reasonable proposals. At the same time, help students to establish a correct concept of time to master the scientific management methods to enhance social adaptability.This study selected400full-time college students in a university in Wuhan.We used three questionnaires, Parental Bonding Instrument(PBI), Adolescence Time Management Dispostion Scale (ATMD) and college students social adaptation (CSAI).350samples are effective. The study results were as follows:1.There are significant differences between the father and the mother’s parenting style to kids.2.The factors:care and autonomy have significant positive correlation with social adaptation.Indifference (rejection) and overprotection have significant negative correlation with social adaptation3.The factors:time control and time efficacy of ATMD have significant positive correlation with social adaptation.4.The factors:indifference (rejection) and overprotection of PBI have significant negative correlation with time management dispostion. Care,autonomy and time efficacy have significant positive correlation with time management dispostion.5.In all factors of PBI and ATMD,these factors:time efficacy,autonomy and indifference (rejection) can significantiy predict social adaptation.Time efficacy and autonomy have significant positive prediction for social adaptation.Indifference has a significant negative prediction for social adaptation.
