A Study On Status, Problems And Solutions Of Professionalization Of Head Teachers In The Higher Vocational Education

With the transforming of educational environment and advance of the thought of professionalization trend, head teachers’specialization is gradually put on the agenda. Due to the special and complicated nature of head teachers, the management is facing great challenges in the higher vocational education schools. Therefore, it is urgent for higher vocational education schools to strengthen the teachers’ specialization.By far, the situation of head teachers in higher vocational education school is still in the "edge" site:head teacher is the "part time job" of professional class teachers, thus they are amateur-like and non-professional. To better understand the situation of head teachers, this study has surveyed the situation of the head teachers through questionnaire and inspected the reality in numbers of higher vocational education schools, meanwhile, we analyzed the professional ethics, occupational standard and management philosophy of head teachers and find out the existing problems and reasons. Base on the complicate and special feature as well as the status of native and international education, this study analyzed the necessity of teachers’ specialization in higher vocational education schools and discussed the content, request and significance of teachers’ specialization.In a word, this study proposed several solutions for teachers’specialization, including innovation of management thoughts, formation the idea of head teachers" specialization, reinforcing professional knowledge, improving the management abilities, increasing the head teachers management experience and level by training, building up the education information platform for head teachers for opening their minds. Last but not least, this study analyzed the supporting measure of teachers’specialization in the higher vocational education schools, e.g. build up a system of permission and motivation in school.
