Background Juvenile delinquency is a serious social problem in China and has become the focus of attention. Juvenile reeducation-through-labor personnel is a special group, the level of their mental health was significantly lower than that in the normal, thus improve their mental health has become very important. Prisons have begun to focus on the quality of education and reform. Especially the education of Juvenile reeducation-through-labor personnel attached particular importance; because with Humane and long-term work, to improve their overall quality and the level of mental health can make more valuable for growth and development in their future. Psychological correction is more conducive to achieve the purpose of this.Narrative therapy is an innovative psychotherapy method created in80’s of the20th century written by Michael White Australia and David Epston New Zealand. Its core is to separate people from the problem, itself is not the principal contradiction but the problem is; with explain an individual’s life story positively to help people re-establish self-identity, then give a deeper understanding of the meaning of life. Practice has proved that narrative therapy is beneficial to increase self-identification of juvenile reeducation-through-labor personnel and raising the level of their mental healthObjective Research the relationship between the characteristic and those which is age, education level, reason of RTL, circumstances of family of juvenile reeducation through labor. Using narrative therapy on psychological correction of juvenile reeducation-through-labor and investigate the effect.Methods We use a sample which be chosen form200juvenile delinquent personnel in Henan Province juvenile reeducation through labor camp randomly and use [custom-Self Basic Demographic Information Questionnaire] and [Eysenck Personality Questionnaire; EPQ] for collect and filter the basic information in two weeks. For the filtered out case, we use [Faith in People Scale; FPS],[The Self-Esteem Inventory; SEI] and [Self-reporting Inventory] to evaluate the Self-esteem level, level of trust of others and self-symptoms and study the effect of using narrative therapy on them. Use SPSS19.0for descriptive statistics and analysis of variance.Results1. For region of the juvenile reeducation-through-labor personnel, the proportion of urban is21.0%, county seat is23.7%and countryside was55.4%respectively.The proportion of juvenile which living in rural is larger than others.2. For family status of the juvenile reeducation-through-labor personnel, more than74.2%is non-only child family; parents’ education level is generally low. For detail, father’s education level at junior high school was47.3%, and the mother was39.2%; father’s education level at primary school (illiterate) was32.3%and44.6%for mother. Generally mother’s education level is lower than his father. The highest proportion of rearing is severe with36.3%; Family’s monthly income is generally low that the proportion of more than2000Yuan is15.6%.3. For education level of juvenile reeducation-through-labor personnel, most of the education level for primary school, the proportion is up to59.2%, higher than junior school which proportion is40.3%. Relatively, the lower the educational level the higher the crime rate.4. For reason of reeducation-through-labor, the most is theft with53.2%;2nd is robbery with16.7%, murder is3rd with9.7%.5. Narrative therapy is likely to be accepted when be applied to psychological correction of juvenile reeducation-through-labor personnel.The acceptance rate is over70%. It can effectively reduce the psychological pressure of the juvenile reeducation-through-labor personnel to help them keep a relaxed attitude in work and study. Conclusions1. Juvenile delinquency affected by family factors and own factors obviously:poor family, low education level of parents, improper guide, character and low cultural qualities; it’s the main incentives to Juvenile delinquency;2. Juvenile delinquency is primarily related to the level of cognitive, behavioral patterns and emotion control ability;3. Narrative therapy can improve self-consistency of juvenile reeducation-through-labor personnel effectively, this show that the narratives therapy in juvenile reeducation-through-labor is applicable.
