With the rapid development of the information technology and the newcurriculum reformation in progress like a raging fire, the education sectorcommonly pay attention to IT courses. The information technology in high middleschool has the characters”many points of knowledge, wide contents, highcomprehensiveness, strong practicality and operability”, it emphasize problemsolving, innovation in practice, encourage students to improve learning in thelearning activities. But some problems still exit in the specific teaching process,such as single ways of teaching, the students’ low interest, lack of collaboration andexchange, not strong innovation and so on. To solve the above problems, throughreading a lot of literatures, the author studies design and application onproblem-based learning activities in high middle school’s information technologycourse,explores the validity of problem-based learning activities in high middleschool’s information technology course in order to improve the teaching’s effect.This research adopts literature analysis, questionnaire survey, interviews andaction research method to investigate teaching situations of high middle school’s ITcourses. Combined with the characteristics of the course as well as high schoolstudents’ learning characteristics, guided by activity theory, situational learningtheory and collaborative learning theory as a theory framework, based on thegeneral model of instructional design, the author put forwards the followingprinciples of problem-based learning activities, builds a model on problem-basedlearning activities in high middle school’s information technology course, and putsthe model into the practice teaching. The author designs two teaching cases,”digitalimage processing and handling” and " Frontpage web making”,and makes a betterpractical effect.The results about theoretical and practical research have proved that usingproblem-based learning activities model in high middle school’s information technology course, it will greatly raise students’ learning interest, fully mobilizestudents’ learning initiative and enthusiasm, increase students’ practical ability andactual ability to solve problems, enhance students’ awareness of self-inquiry andcollaboration with others, and have a more significant effect on promoting theinformation technology ability.
