Research Shutong Educational Activities

Li Shutong is an outstanding Chinese artist, educator. He is proficient in painting, music, drama, calligraphy, seal and poetry and art. With his unique personality charm and outstanding artistic attainments, has fostered the painter Feng Zikai, musician Liu Zhiping and Wu Mengfei, writer Pan Tianshou and others.Based on literature analysis and historical analysis as the main research methods, to study the interaction and the teacher-student relationship between Li Shutong and his students from the perspective of the history of educational activities. This paper is not only to show Li Shutong’s personal charm and education by students and friends of memories of Li Shutong’s documents and materials. It also reflects the relationship between teachers and students in the cultivation of personality and artistic attainments, inheritance, understand and the spiritual fulfill between each other.This paper consists of six parts:The first part, introduction. Starting from the research background and significance, the related literature was refined and summarized, and briefly introduces the core research ideas and research methods.The second part, introduces Li Shutong’s legend and poetic life from the perspective of Xia Mianzun. including the outstanding attainments in the arts education, selfless dedication and promotion of Buddhism of Li Shutong.The third part to the fifth part, the analysis mainly through the diary of Li Shutong, the students’ articles of Li Shutong and letters between he and his students and some other historical materials. It inclunds educational activities Li Shutong and his three students (Feng Zikai, Pan Tianshou and Liu Zhiping) between, the interaction and inheritance in the cultivation of personality and art accomplished between teachers and students, among them:The third part, through summing up and refining of education activities between Li Shutong and his student Feng Zikai, analysis art and personality influence character by environment, silently effect, and also shows the understand and help in the spirit from Feng Zikai as student to Li Shutong.The fourth part, through a detailed analysis of the historical data, it shows profound gratitude and sincere heart between Liu Zhiping on Li Shutong from two aspects. The fifth part, it analyzed the educational activities and interaction between Li Shutong and his student Pan Tianshou, and also showed outstanding character and fearless spirit of Li Shutong.The sixth part, conclusion. It is the evaluation of Li Shutong and his students from the perspective of modern masters and celebrities. It including the research and its significance, evaluation of the impact of Li Shutong’s educational thoughts.
