From the quality education was raised in the eighty’s of the last century, the value orientation of China’s education field gradually change from exam-oriented education to quality-oriented education, whether the curriculum goals or the contents, the ultimate goal is for the student’s own development, this goal also means that our basic education curriculum system will be in transition, and adaptation teaching should also be able to meet the requirements of social development. Students should change their ways of learning to cultivate sound personality and unique creative thinking, avoid the disadvantages of traditional education from the essence. The inquiry learning as a new thing in the reform of the education curriculum, is the highlight, key, difficulty of reform and in line with the theme of education reform in our country. It is also an essential basic quality of free normal students to cultivate practical ability and innovative thinking.This paper describes the meaning, characteristics and theoretical basis of the study, and has carried on the limits to the ability of teaching and evaluation system. Through investigation and research about the present situation of free normal students inquiry learning, demonstration of inquiry learning attitude positive, higher cognitive, harvest quite abundant, the main problems existed in topic selection, scientific research methods, time and energy, working with people, and deepening the understanding of theory, etc.. Combining with the research results, I discussed the teaching ability based on the characteristics of inquiry learning, including teaching design ability, guiding students learning ability, logical thinking ability, classroom foresee ability, using information ability and learning ability, cooperation teaching ability and teaching reflection ability and so on eight aspects. Clearly, inquiry learning is an effective way to promote free normal students teaching ability. Based on the results of the research, I put forward the following suggestions for the free normal students:The school should improve campus environment, establish scientific and reasonable teaching ability evaluation standard, provide a platform for the development of free normal students. On the other hand, free normal students should take an active part in all kinds of lecture, attaches great importance to the education practice guidance teachers role and teaching reflection, strengthen the research-oriented study related theory study, actively participate in college students’ scientific research subject, pay attention to the training of scientific research methods, strengthen practice education in the practice of inquiry learning.This article main conclusion is inquiry learning is helpful to promote free normal students teaching ability, free normal inquiry learning should be strengthened further. In inquiry learning, the free normal students should focus on strengthening the education idea transformation, accepting the new form of role transformation, to improve teaching ability based on the inquiry learning better.
