There were great changes in the new junior middle school Biology textbook,which was basing on Compulsory Education Biology Curriculum Standards (2011Edition). Since the fall of2012, nation has began to use the junior middle schoolBiology textbook of People’s Education Press(PEP)-----Biological seven grade book.The textbook adopts the principle of centering on students both in the structure andcontent and designs many activities for students,development. Besides, the status ofthe new textbook has changed a lot. All the changes above have put forward a higherdemand for teachers. For the purpose of researching the first grade junior middleschool biology teachers adaptation for the new textbook, we took the new textbookand the old textbooks for comparative analysis,and used a questionnaire titled as Adaptive Research On First Grade Junior Middle School Biology Teachers of PEPTextbook as the main tool. Interviews was also employed in this research. Our studyinvolved teachers’ behavior orientation (points for attention and perception), behaviorstrategy, behavior tactics, behavioral effect were also focused on.The results showed that major the first grade junior middle school biologyteachers of Guangzhou adapt well. They understood the new textbook moreprofoundly than others, were able to adapt to the design of content, can teachflexibly using the new textbooks, and introspect on the effect of using new textbooktimely. However there were some teachers failed to fully accept the new textbook.Performance for that some teachers didn’t understand the new curriculum standard,some teachers didn t take the new textbook s STS contents applied to teaching, someteachers still continued to use the old textbook teaching train of thought, someteachers didn t attach importance to students’ responses, some teachers didn t activelearn the new textbook and so on.Consequently, it recommend that biology teachers in the first grade junior middleschool should adapt to the requirements of the new curriculum teaching, strengthenthe understanding of the new textbook and strengthen their own learning, improvetheir comprehensive level and strengthen ability for cooperation and learning mutually and use a variety of teaching methods,adapt to the new textbook andintrospect on teaching practices timely. School leaders should fully implement thenew curriculum idea, raise the level of education and strengthen the training ofteachers, provide more forms and contents for teacher training and expand the schoolcurriculum resources, efforts to improve the teaching conditions and reform theteachers’ evaluation system and students’ evaluation system, alleviate teachers’ burden.The administrative departments of education should improve the objective conditionsfor the new curriculum effectively, help the new teaching materials implementationand communicate with education practitioners,adapt teaching materials in time. At thesame time, it puted forward some suggestions for the textbook writers.
