In recent years, there has been massivly passive graduating high school studentsabandoning college entrance exam, which became the social focus. At present, researchon the reasons and countermeasures of graduating high school students abandoningcollege entrance exam was not enough, especially in the sight of basic education. In thisarticle, Chengdu Meishi International School and Taiping Campus of ShuangliuChanghu High School were chosen as objects, aimed students, teachers, parents andeducangtional departments were interviewed to find the real reason of abandoning theexam. This study also focuses on basic education, which can offer some reference todeveloping policy of national education, the healthy and sustainable development ofbasic education and reform of college entrance exam system.First, it introduces the research background, the purpose of this research, theresearch status internationally and nationally, the research methods and ideas and thefeasibility of the research.In the second part, it investigates and analyzes the situation of graduating highschool students abandoning college entrance exam in Chengdu Meishi InternationalSchool and Taiping Campus of Shuangliu Changhu High School. This part includes theprofiles of those two schools, the situation of ordinary high school education, theselection of interviewee, data collection, interview results analysis and typical caseanalysis.In the third part, we mainly study the reason of graduating high school studentsabandoning college entrance exam in those two schools. This part includes insufficientcapital of education, huge gap between the urban and rural basic education,utilitarianism value of the Graduating high education and lacking Psychologicalcounseling of graduating high school students. In addition, social development providesgood employment platform for graduating high school students, as well as low domesticeducation acceptance resulting in a large number of students to choose educationabroad.In the fourth part, it mainly discusses the strategy of improving the situation ofabandoning college entrance exam. The strategy includes improving students’self-awareness, increasing governmental investment, strict control of non compulsory education cost, reducing the educational gap between urban area and rural area,strengthening psychological counseling to graduating high school students, andreasonable reform of current college entrance exam.
