On The Construction Of University Soft Power

Since the reform and opening up, the higher education in our country has developed atfull speed. The construction of hardware in university gained huge success, but soft powerconstruction lagged behind relatively. In the concept of running school, cultivating waysalthough the university has achieved initial success, but compared to the first-class universityin the world is still a big gap. The seventeen big report of the party puts forward to "stimulatethe cultural creativity, enhance the national cultural soft power" the strategy is decision-making, put forward to the new historical mission of university. Some universities realizedthe importance of the construction of soft power, corresponding clear its idea of running aschool, have advocated build university culture, university spirit cultivate. However, becauseof the lack of theoretical to guidance and to practical operate, some colleges and universitiesappeared in the education target, education philosophy lost features, location from realityproblems, on management, administrative power to limit academic freedom; teaching,neglecting the students’ moral education. These problems eventually led to the promotion ofthe soft power of university.This study starts from the connotation of university spirit culture, system culture,material culture and behavior culture four aspects of the soft power of university, points outthe university soft strength of carrier, relative stability, continuous innovation and hard copyetc. Study the existence of soft power construction of our country university school-runningidea lack of features, positioning is divorced from reality, the general lack of university spirit,university culture and university management behavior anomie of administrative problems,and from the three aspects, economic and institutional analysis of the cause of the problem. Atthe same time, according to the existing soft power construction of our country university inquestion, select two world class university (University of Cambridge, Harvard University ofthe United States of America) soft power research, analysis and summary of the twouniversity in the university spirit, educational philosophy, culture and other aspects of themeasures. On this basis, combined with China’s higher education practice, the traditions andcharacteristics of the process, should be soft power construction in chinese universitiy of clearpositioning itself, cultivation of university teachers, casting brand consciousness, innovationmanagement system, optimizing the cultural environment on campus, enhancing mutualexchanging and cooperation. These suggestions, in order to promote the construction of ourcountry university soft the strength, and promote chinese universities comprehensive competitiveness.
