Sino-foreign Cooperative Education In Higher Vocational Colleges: Situations,Problems And Solutions

Since the reform and opening in China,Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education in higher vocational education has achieved encouraging results.Through the introduction of foreign higher vocational education concept,curriculum and international occupational qualification certificate enable Higher Vocational Colleges have gained useful experiences for talents training.Despite these achievements,issues also gradually emerge during the development of Sino-Foreign cooperative education in Higher Vocational colleges.How to ensure a sustainable and healthy development of Sino-Foreign cooperation has become an important task for government departments and related institutions.Therefore,it is necessary to probe into the existing issues in Sino-Foreign cooperation in Higher Vocational Colleges,further analyze the deficiencies and present countermeasures to ensure a sustainable and healthy development in Sino-Foreign cooperation.This article is based on analyzing the overall situation of Sino-Foreign cooperation nationally and on the rapid development of Sino-Foreign cooperative education in Jiangsu Province.Suzhou Centennial College was chosen as the case for this research.By using the theory of New Public Management,6 main issues were analyzed such as uneven scale for developing the College,decline in the quality and quantity of students,similar programs found among other colleges,incomplete evaluation system,unclear positioning and disorder management.6main aspects were analyzed to tackle these 6main issues.By applying the theory of New Public Management and by obtaining experiences from some Sino-Foreign Colleges,these improvement measures can be taken such as playing an active role in planning and supervising from the perspective ofGovernmental management.
