In recent years, with the rapid development of high vocational education in China, high education in our country occupies an important position. There are35high vocational colleges in Hefei at present, and most of them have implemented performance pay reforms. Just like other provinces and cities, the performance pay reform of Hefei high vocational schools has achieved tremendous results, meanwhile, there are also inappropriate and ineffective incentive problems. This article is based on the background of colleges performance pay system reform, drawing on the research of Western scholars on the motivation theory, method and comprehensive survey of literature on performance pay reform. It attempts to explore the current problems and their causes of Hefei Vocational colleges’performance pay reform, and the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for further deepen and improve the performance pay system reform and offer possible theoretical basis.According to the study, we find that the current reform of Hefei Vocational colleges pay performance issues are as following:the appraisal standards in performance are unscientific, the wage distribution system is not yet perfect, fairness needs to be improved and so on. The traditional management concept of colleges restricts the performance pay reform of Hefei vocational colleges and the results of the play. With the rapid development, the structure of people’s demand has greatly changed, however, still mainly vocational colleges of Hefei follow the traditional concept of incentive pay system, motivational content less means single, inflexible and incentive process is also lack of continuity and timeliness. Based on the present situation of high vocational colleges in Hefei, we propose to establish a sound performance pay incentive system, select the appropriate incentives approach, focusing on incentive process control, and deepen understanding of incentive targets.
