Study On Population Agglomeration Path In Developing Hefei Into Regional Metropolis Like City

Industrial cluster’s appeal to population agglomeration is really about the relationship between industrial structure and employment structure and how to create more jobs by adjusting the industrial structure. In order to reach the goal of12th five year plan, Reginol city development must rely on Population Agglomeration.,or the"big" out of question. In "12th five year plan " of Hefei city development planning requirements, Hefei city will strive to promote the city function.The population of city resident should be exceed to4million.To2020,GDP will be double that based on the GDP in"12th five year",The per capita GDP amounted to more than＄20,000.All these in order to take the lead in realizing modernization In the province.As indicated by the12th five-year plan, Hefei would developed into a regional metropolis within next five years that permanent residents will reach10million.This paper gave some suggestions based on a study of how industrial cluster could promote population agglomeration. It was concluded that encouraging the third industry development and optimizing its geographical distribution on the basis of boasting second industry development would be the ultimate solution to our goal. The paper is divided into three parts:The first part presented background theories of industrial clustering models and corresponding effects. This helped understanding the importance of IC to population agglomeration and economic growth.The second part examined the causal relation between Hefei’s industrial cluster and employment structure by looking at their historical evolution. Based on current trend of IC and ES development and the analysis of triple-industrial structure deviation, we further gave instructions on which direction Hefei should take in the period of developing itself into a regional BIG city, especially on what industrial structure it should build within next five years.The third part aimed at elucidating the relationship between industrial clustering and urbanization process. Location Entropy Index was used to calculate the numbers of jobs that could possibly be created by the second and third industries in different regions and different businesses.
