Objective: Dehydration is one of the most common problems in sports training. It is animportant cause of fatigue in the body and posing a serious challenge to the developmentof health and the sports ability of athletes. This study selected30cyclists to drink acertain amount of glycerol-containing beverages before exercise, and to exploring theeffect of intervention on the water storage of human body, as well as the impact of urineoutputs and exercise capacity of athletes in the high-temperature and high humidityenvironment temperature, and to provide advices for the coaches and athletes to useglycerol hyperhydration in training and competition. Methods: This study designed a self-control experimental, the interventions is glycerolcontaining beverage (E) and placebo beverage (C), the specific components of two kindsof drinks and the major difference between them Implement a double-blind to researchersand subjects. The subjects of the study consists of30healthy male cyclists from BeijingRiding Association, and their average age was27.4±5.58years old, the cyclists must beperform two times to form a self-control, test related indicators in the process of test.Results:1. The volume of the placebo-controlled group was315.40±39.13ml and548.41±49.05ml, the experimental group was212.00±24.84ml and447.73±57.66ml, and therewas a significant difference (P <0.05); After exercise, the placebo group’s weight losswas1.32±0.10kg, the glycerol-containing group decreased value was0.96±0.10kg,body weight changes has very significant difference (P <0.01);2. The experimental group’s endurance riding time was45.92±9.19minutes, whichlonger than that of the control group was42.76±7.86minutes, there was a significantdifference (P<0.01); and the RPE curves and the blood oxygen saturation of theexperimental group, were a upward trend; experiment group’s of post exercise lactateconcentration is6.26±2.67mmol/L, significantly lower than the control group, which is7.54±3.06mmol/L;3. The experimental group’s neural tension after exercise is significantly higher than thecontrol group, and the control group’s reaction time after exercise was0.170±0.015s/min, the experimental was0.166±0.012s/min, which was significantly lowerthan the control group (P<0.05);4. In this experiment,30cyclists have not any discomfort, dizziness or vomiting.Conclusions:1. The bicycle athletes ingest glycerol-containing drinks before exercise can effectivelyreduce the output of urine, and can effectively increase exercise capacity by increasing the body retention water;2. The experimental group cyclists’ riding time was significantly longer than the controlgroup, and the experimental group can make their RPE curve down, make their SpO2saturation generally goes to up trend; Their blood lactate concentration after exercise wassignificantly lower than the control group, and the experimental group show higheraerobic ability;3. The control group cyclists’ nervous tension was significantly higher than theexperimental group, and have longer response time; The control group athletes werefatiguer than the experimental group;4. The experimental was designed reasonable, and the replenishment policy applicationwas safe and effective.
