Research methods used in this paper are mainly the questionnaire investigation and caseanalysis. The investigation objects are the countryside junior middle school biology teachers andmiddle school students in Liaoning Province. And investigation into the current situation of theimplementation scientific inquiry activities of the countryside junior middle school biologyaimed at understanding the attitude of the teachers and students on the scientific inquiryactivities, and the current situation of the implementation scientific inquiry activities in thecountryside junior middle school. The results of the investigation show that the current situationis mingle hope and fear. Mainly includes: the scale of the countryside junior middle schoolbiology teachers is not perfect,73.8%teachers work for longer,1/5teachers teach two grades,their tasks are too heavy, and the energy is limited. The teachers and students attach importanceto the implementation of scientific inquiry activities and the ability of cooperation andcommunication, but there are too many questions to carry out. Such as the education conditions,class time, the process of the implementation and so on. There are many deficiencies in thescientific inquiry activity. For example, the classroom atmosphere is not active, the enthusiasmof1/3students is not high, and the teachers’ comprehension of scientific inquiry activities haserror, the traditional concepts have the influence to teaching methods. These problems need to beimproved. In addition, most of the rural schools ignore biological disciplines. It also affects thedevelopment of scientific inquiry activities. Finally, teachers and students put forward to theirvaluable suggestions for the improvement biology teaching, such as increasing lessons andreform of the examination system.The author thinks that, in order to the development of the countryside junior middle schoolbiology scientific inquiry activities, it not only need to improve teachers’ professionalaccomplishment, but also need to the cooperation of schools and other related educationdepartment and the all social people. If we do our best, the development of biology, theimplementation of the scientific inquiry activities can be truly better and the students’ ability ofscientific inquiry and biological scientific literacy can be improved.
