The new curriculum reform advocates to develop students’scientific literacy, chemistry is one of the basic science, chemistry out-class work plays an important role in an extension of high school chemistry teaching and continue to cultivate the students’ scientific literacy. For high school students, high school chemistry out-class work can help students consolidate the knowledge, develop skills, knowledge, etc. prep achieve student can not complete the development in the classroom. For high school chemistry teacher, high school chemistry out-class work can help them diagnose their own teaching, and promote continuous improvement of teaching chemistry. However, the curriculum reform ten years, high school chemistry out-class work there are still some problems hindering the progress and development of students and teaching. High school chemistry out-class work for a full investigation and research, which found that the existing problems and put forward some countermeasures to provide some reference for high school chemistry teaching, but also give a new round of reforms to provide a basis for teaching. However, a comprehensive survey of high school chemistry out-class work and research almost no investigation of the narrower perspective of the majority, or some empirical description of the chemistry out-class work, therefore, this study is very necessary.This study summarizes a lot of basic research on out-class work at home and abroad, through questionnaires and interviews with students and teachers prepared outline, Lu’an City, Anhui selected six different levels of school, from the purpose and function, content and form, management and feedback on the status of the three aspects of high school chemistry conducted a comprehensive investigation. On questionnaires and interviews to collect information and processing, and by analyzing the final draw appropriate conclusions.The findings indicate that the purpose and function of a single high school chemistry out-class work, the lack of comprehensiveness; types with a single source, the lack of practicality; single layout, lack of relevance; correcting single way, the lack of timeliness; single evaluation methods, the lack of specificity. For high school chemistry out-class work in the existence of these problems, this study puts forward some corresponding countermeasures, in purpose and function, focusing on multi-dimensional and comprehensive; in the types and sources, focusing on diversity and life practice; in the arrangement on the way, focusing on flexibility and diversity; in correcting the way, pay attention to diversity and timeliness; in evaluation methods, focusing on the richness and specificity.
