While education is companied by punishment, the educational punishment is very different from other penalties. Educational punishment and other social penalties differs much in purpose, emotional foundation, emotional foundation, among which the most significant difference is that the educational punishment is to enable students to develop. Appropriate educational punishment plays an irreplaceable role in maintaining order and the students’socialization.But in recent years, as the rise of humanism education trend coupled with many educators’misunderstanding of educational punishment and some teachers abuse educational punishment, people give more and more criticism to educational punishment.How to evaluate the value of educational punishment and how to use it rationally has become an important issue the educators and parents have to face. Based on the background of new curriculum reform and the new achievements about punishment domestic and overseas, the theoretical research and empirical research method was used to summarize some methods and principles of educational punishment and to explore how to use educational punishment rationally to achieve the purpose of promote students’development.The thesis is divided into four parts:The first part is about the necessity of the use of educational punishment in the moral education in secondary school. The importance of moral education in secondary school is needless to say, and the use of educational punishment in moral education in secondary school help to promote students’self-discipline and to form healthy personality.It can be found in the relevant laws and regulations that teacher has the right to carry out educational punishment. We should learn from the overseas especially some of the developed countries about their attitude towards educational punishment and their experience calculated in the procedure of employing educational punishment.The second part is about main problems that exist in the use of educational punishment in moral education in secondary school. In this section I used empirical research to study how the educational punishment is used and the problems in using it from the practical point, by doing questionnaire survey. The main problems of educational punishment is the inappropriate scope, subject, timing, occasion, standards, goals and means.The third part is about the reason why there is a problem in using educational punishment. I will analysis the reason from the guidance of the social public opinion, the deficiencies of school evaluation and management system, the law awareness and comprehensive quality of teachers, the education relevant laws and school regulations.The fourth part is about the measures to improve the educational punish in the moral education in secondary school. In this section many improvements is put up according to the problems exist in educational punishment.
