The Analysis Of The Mother-in-law And Daughter-in-law Relation Model In Family Ethics Dramas

The relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law has been exiting in China since ancient times,and this kind of family relation constantly undergoes change from the traditional mighty mother-in-law and weak daughter-in-law relation model to current various mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relation models with the evolution of sociaty. Family ethics dramas is a type of TV plays which is based on the reality of family.They reflect the contemporary relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law and arouse widespread repercussions and discussions among the audiences.From "Mother-in-law,Daughter-in-law and Sister-in-law"which caused a strong reaction in the community in1997to the recent "Mother-in-law and Daughter-in-law Puzzles","Mother-in-law Is Coming","A Beautiful Daughter-in-law Era" a variety of mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationships are reflected in the hot TV series,and the topic of the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law has aroused extensive attention and heated discussion on such a kind of relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law in reality.This article is based on the analysis of the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law in the hot family ethics dramas in recent years,and summarizes three kinds of mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relation model,namely,mighty mother and weak daughter relation model,conflict and fusion relation model and harmonous relation model.In the first three chapters,on the basis of textual analysis,the present author makes a detailed of the figure of mother-in-law,daughter-in-law and son/husband which is related to the three relation models mentioned above.In the Forth chapter,the thesis analyzes those three mother-in-law relation model from the perspective of feminism,probing into the traditional patriarchal concept which hidden behind the false consciousness of women in the TV dramas,revealing whether the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law showed how strong modern consciousness.They still cannot remain completely free from the bondage of traditional ideas,in view of the fact that the modern mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relation model in the TV play always eventually returns to the traditional one.At the end of the article,I returns to the real life by means of analyzing the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law in the TV plays to explore the female audiances’ psychological states and mental demands when they family ethics dramas concerning the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law as well as to elaborate this kind of family influence on and enlightenment to the female audience.
