The relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law is a basic and important interpersonal relationship in a family which plays a more than important link role for the harmonious development of each family and the whole society. It's a no fleshly descent, more difficult to get on well and relatively subtle interpersonal relationship neither the strong blood lines like mother and daughter in a family nor the close marriage bonds like husband and wife. Superficially, the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law is a relationship between two individuals. Meanwhile, as two strangers in society, they become a family from two unknown people. In addition, they also become the vital link upon the two families and have their own basic position. To the development of a family, getting along well for the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law can promote the good development of a family. Tension, on the other hand, due to the old woman daughter-in-law, and cause all kinds of family conflicts, influence family harmony. For the interpersonal relationship around the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, especially for a healthy growth of younger generation, a good development of the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law can help younger generation grow sturdily and has a positive influence to the marriage of relatives and friends around them. Accordingly, it elevates the happiness of female as mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. From the point of this view, whether the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law is well not only relates to the mental and physical health of mother-in-law and daughter-in-law and influences the relationship between husband and wife but also directly concerns to the harmony of a family, the solidarity of the society and the long period of order and stability of the whole country.Our country began conduct family planning since1976 and formally push the " universal two-child policy" in 2016. In the process of national development in the past forty years, the structure of family has changed. A group of the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law from reform and opening-up transit to market economy has became an unique feature in modern social family. Besides, a group of only daughter after 80 raised families and led to the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. The thesis is established in the present situation of the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law for only daughter and uses literature method, questionnaires survey, the interview method and text method and so on. It investigates the only daughter-in-law and her mother-in-low and other non only daughter-in-law in L community in Changzhi city in Shanxi province and adopts the methods with multi segment layer and random sampling. By this, it selects 300 mother-in-low and daughter-in-law with different age, occupation and income to make a questionnaires survey and have a structured interview for 20 only daughter-in-low and non only daughter-in-low. Furthermore, I use cross-over analysis with the questionnaires. In the constantly development of Internet science and technology, comparing with the survey of non only daughter-in-low, classifying the postings on the Internet about the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law and analyzing the present situation of only daughter-in-low, the thesis analyzing the factors which influences the relationship between only daughter-in-low and mother-in-low such as economy, culture, occupation, emotion, generation gap and science and technology. Then, it summarizes the features of relationship between this generation of only daughter-in-low and mother-in-low and analyzing the basic tendency and existent main problems of it. At last, the thesis also inquires to a new method to promote a better development of the relationship between mother-in-low and daughter-in-low and play a significant part in promoting the construction of harmonious family and society.
