Since ancient times,the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law is an important part of family life.The harmony between mother and daughter has a direct impact on other aspects of family life and family relationships.Precisely because of this,the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law as an important part of family sociology has always been an important issue that scholars pay close attention to.Since the family planning policy was implemented in the 1980 s,the original backbone family model in rural China has been changed,and the family structure has become more and more miniaturized and core.The changes in family structure and function have an important impact on the relationship between mother and daughter in the family.Therefore the theme of this article is the study of the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law in rural areas under the background of new era.The relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law is put under the background of family life in rural areas,and the current situation and the influencing factors of the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law in rural areas are investigated.Trying to show how the social and cultural factors have an impact on the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law in the family life and analyzing what kind of new features and new contents the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law in rural areas will appear in the new period.By analyzing the daily interaction between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law in different periods,this paper explores the changes in the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law and their development trend.Through the research,this article draws the following conclusions: First,in the new period,the conflict between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law changed from overt to implicit and showed the characteristics of overall harmony;secondly,the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law changed from compulsory obedience to equality;Thirdly,The rapid rise of the cost of marriage has an important impact on the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.Fourth,the power relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law is "far away from one another without sparseness".
