China and Korea are neighboring countries and especially in recent years communicationbetween these two countries has been growing both in size and frequency. From the perspectiveof international trade China is Korea’s largest trade partner, which is why more and more Koreancompanies, independent traders and Korean students want to go to China to either study or toexpand their business. Many Koreans moved to China and education of their children became anissue of great importance. To satisfy the need of kindergarten level education for these Koreanchildren in China Korean Ministry of Education managed "Korea international schools"(alsoincluding kindergartens) have been established in many large cities throughout China.Our thesis is doing research on the state of Chinese teaching at the Korean kindergartenswhich are a part of the international schools in Shenyang mentioned above. We have found outthat although the students are in the target language setting, which is very positively affectingtheir Chinese proficiency, at the moment they are not making any significant progress.We will focus on these "international kindergartens" hoping that through our research wecan help raise the quality of education they provide. We will focus on kindergartens in Shenyang(Liaoning Province), among our main research methods will be interviews and a survey. Afteranalyzing the results of our research we will focus on existing problems and will also providesuggestions on how to deal with them.Our thesis has four chapters in total as follows: First chapter includes foreword,introduction to the whole problematic, goals and merit of our research as well as the theoreticalpart of our thesis. The second chapter consists of our field work, statistics and a report on theresults. The third chapter consists of an analysis of the results acquired in the second chapter,analysis of the existing problems and their origin. In the fourth chapter we have providedsuggestions to future development of international kindergartens on both school authority andteacher levels. The last part is the conclusion including remarks on the deficiencies of our work,on the subject of merit of our thesis as well as more suggestions on the topic of education.
