In recent years, China’s urbanization construction has been conducted rapidly. The rapid urbanization has promoted the economic development, but also brought a series of social problems, education is one of them. As a special kind of morphology of urbanization, the urban-rural fringe has the forms of both cities and villages, and becomes the concentration area of all kinds of social problems. In the context that the country has consistently advocated education priority development and to promote the balanced development of the compulsory education, how to solve the education problem of urban-rural fringe areas and promote the sound development of urban-rural fringe area schools, has become the focus of attention. Education is the people’s livelihood. Raising the level of urban-rural fringe area schools, not only relates to the school’s own development, also relates to the satisfaction of the demand for high quality education of the local people.The author takes the typical urban-rural fringe school in Wuhan-Huashan Middle School as the research object, using interview and questionnaire to analyse Huashan Middle School’s development present situation and the development difficulties it is facing. Huashan Middle School used to be a advanced school in the suburban rural in Wuhan, but now it is facing the trouble of students decreasing and school quality declining. However, the service scope of the school, teachers, educational philosophy and the students’ graduate detination has no obvious changes. The author uses the SWOT analytic approach to analyse the school. The analysis goes from an dynamic angle to analyse the opportunities and challenges the urbanization brings to urban fringe area schools such as Huashan Middle School, and to explore the various relevant factors affecting the development of the schools.According to the article, Huashan Middle School is the only middle school in the region, which has a glorious history, younger teachers and of high quality; The school environment, atmosphere, relationship between teachers are good. The urbanization of Wuhan has brought rare opportunities to the development of Huashan Middle School.The construction of Huashan ecological new town has made the residents of Huashan living more concentrated, and the parent-school contact will be more convenient; The hardware facilities of the school will be greatly improved; The urbanization will bring more people to the region, and the source of students will be improved; The improvement of the residents’living conditions will make the investment of children’s education increase. The newly built Huashan community has more convenient traffic to the main urban area, and to study in the urban areas is more convenient for school students, which will lead to a large number of high quality students flow into schools in urban area; The urbanization can make school students more complicated; The pressure of the widespread demand for high quality education for the school will be greater.Under the guidance of strategic planning theory, the author puts forward the quality strategy, customer strategy, characteristic strategy for the development of the school, aims to present a planning scheme for the school to improve the school image and shape the school brand, and to make the school adapt to the urbanization process of the region.
