The status quo of "Exercise Strategy" is contrary to the target of "Quality Education", so it is necessary to improve the efficiency of mathematical learning to solve the contradiction, which made the research of mathematical problems solving particularly important. The first grade of junior school is the transition stage between elementary school and junior high school, so the learning content has been changed from the specific number to the abstract algebra, which means it needs a transition from thinking in images to abstract thinking. But with a year’s practice in math teaching, the author found that there are many obstacles in algebra learning for some junior school freshmen, and their performance varies. So to further understand the reasons, we must study the students’ problems solving process.Firstly, analyzed the current research situation of mathematical problems solving at home and abroad, and concluded four stages of mathematical problems solving process which are named Mathematical Problems Representation, Operators Selection, Operators Application, Inspection and Reflection. Secondly, determined three main factors on the basis of the existing related theories, which are named cognitive, meta-cognitive and non-intellectual factors that affect the junior school freshmen’s algebra problems solving, and the non-intellectual factors is divided into three subscales:motivating factor, anxiety factor and self-efficacy. Thirdly, got the main performance of the obstacles that exist in students’ algebra problems solving by investigation and study. And put forward teaching measures of improving the efficiency of algebra problems solving. Finally, put the teaching measures into effect through two teaching activities. The main conclusions:l.The specific performance about that the algebra problems solving ability of junior school freshmen is generally not high. There is a gap between students’ meta-cognitive level and algebra learning requirements. The students’ problem solving habits are not good and their positive transfer level is not high. The transition from thinking in images to abstract thinking is in big difficulty. Different students’ obstacles to solve algebra problems appeared in different stages. Learning difficulty students’ anxiety level is too high, their motivation and self-efficacy are not strong, their elementary knowledge is not firmly mastered and operation ability is not strong. And there are obstacles in their reading comprehension.2. Teaching measures to improve the algebra problems solving efficiency of junior school freshmen. Stimulate students’ interest in solving mathematical problems, and then guide them to participate in the learning process. Cultivate their summarized and reflective habit to help them perfect their knowledge network. Increase effective and clarity questions, so as to achieve efficient questions. Develop students’ self-study ability and self-monitoring ability in problem-solving. To make good use of mathematical analogy ideas, promote positive transfer mathematical content. According to students’ different situation, using stratified progressive teaching method in the teaching process. Attaches great importance to the processing evaluation, let the learning difficulty students feel themselves concerned.
