The purpose of the study was to investigate5-6years old migrant children’mathematics school readiness. The research used "Test of Early Mathematics Ability" designed by Herbert P.G.insberg and Arthur J.Baroody as a test tool. But we only choose the test items for5-6years olds. The subjects were120five or six years old migrant children from every district in Zhangjiajie which were randomly selected. With inferential statistics methods to investigate5-6years old migrant children’ mathematical school readiness of regional differences, age differences and gender differences, also the features of each dimension of mathematic ability.By testing one-to-one,and analysing the sample data,we come to the following conclusions:5-6years old migrant children’mathematic school readiness didn’t exist significant regional, age and gender differences. On the preparation5-6years old migrant children’singing numbers, singing in order developed better than reciprocal singing, and the adjacent singing numbers lacked developments. On the preparation5-6years old migrant children’reading and writting numbers,single-digit literacy preparation developed better, and two-digit didn’t develop much. On the preparation5-6years old migrant children’ counting numbers, children were better at counting the numbers according to the items than taking the items according to the number. On the preparation5-6years old migrant children’ comparing numbers, the items comparison ability was better, figures comparison ability was in the general level, the number distance comparison ability was poor. On the preparation5-6years old migrant children’ addition and subtraction ability, physical computing developed better, mental arithmetic lacked preparation, and oral computing was lagging behind.According to the research findings, combined with interviews information, there were some suggestions on how to improve children’ mathematic school readiness:creat a relatively good mathematic learning environment, respect early childhood development mathematical ability principle, achieve children’ scientific mathematics education.
