This paper discuss the viewpoint from two aspects of vertical and horizontal. In the aspect of longitudinal, the paper made the history of general education of colleges and universities in Taiwan as the main line. See the typical characteristics as the node. Then the evolution of general education was divided into three stages: beginning period, development period and mature period. On the transverse, Based on investigation of151centers of Taiwan generation centers, the curriculum, teaching methods, evaluation methods, publications and the web sites, organization and management for carding had been analyzed, and the whole views can be set up. In Taiwan, the idea of general education of colleges and universities is the whole-person education. And its core curriculum implementation model including four forms.
