With the development of science and technology and the deepening of economic era, all-round development of comprehensive talent has become one of the key factors of national competitiveness. In this context,"Force-feeding" education mode limits the development of the students. As a result, students lose the spirit of exploration and innovation ability. So, curriculum reform is imminent. As a science subject,biology is closely connected with students’life. Therefore, carrying on enquiry teaching has a certain advantage in Biology. Teachers should properly use enquiry teaching to cultivate the students’scientific research thinking and innovative ability. Teachers face confusions about Enquiry teaching which is a new teaching mode, such as," What’s enquiry teaching?" How carry out the enquiry teaching effectively?" and so on. Firstly in the paper, by collecting and processing research achievement about enquiry teaching, sums up the connotation and theoretical basis of enquiry teaching. Then, based on theoretical basis and teaching experience, investigates of enquiry teaching. The results show enquiry teaching still exist many problems at present stage in high school.1:Students are interested in exploring, but the practical skills and research ability are lack.2:Students’exploring consciousness is poorer, meanwhile, few is able to find problems and the solve them by themselves.3:The consciousness of cooperation in enquiry teaching is lack and innovation ability need to be strengthened.4:Influenced by many factors, students are lack of opportunity to explore.Facing the problems, the paper put forward several measures to Biology teaching in high school. Based on this measures and six kinds of lesson plans, the paper analyzing the enquiry teaching patterns. Hoping the analyzation can inspire the teachers’ teaching design.The implementation of enquiry teaching can cultivate students’ scientific research way of thinking, cultivate the students’ innovation ability, practical ability, observation ability, cooperation ability. Eventually, promote the students’ future development.Enquiry teaching has a realistic significance.
