Being the core component of teacher’s knowledge, PCK reflectsthe professional teaching standards. Nowadays, PCK has become one of the most populartopics of Teacher Education. Teacher needs to use different teaching methods to teach thestudents due to their different educational background and level. The different content ofcourses also has the different teaching method. Thus the teacher should be required to choosesuitable way of imparting knowledge according to the specific situation. And PCK representsthe level of this kind of knowledge or ability. The related research of PCK can be helped toimprove the teaching level and professional development of the teacher.Based on the related studying achievement of PCK and the chemistry’s teaching practiceof junior high school, this paper compiled a “Junior High School Chemistry Teacher’s PCKQuestionnaire” by surveying71junior high school chemistry teachers randomly selected inHebei Province and carrying on SPSS19.0statistical analysis. The conclusion as follows:(1)The overall level of PCK is better in the junior high school in Hebei Province;(2)Therelevance of the each part of knowledge of PCK is relatively strong, but the development ofeach part of knowledge is imbalance;(3)There is significant difference among teachers owingto different age, different school age and different professional title;(4)There isn’t hugedifference among teachers of different gender, different major, different educationalbackground and different school.This paper compares the teacher’s knowledge of learners between a new teacher and aexperienced teacher on the basis of the questionnaire. Interviews reveal that:(1)pre-employment professional learning, post-employment daily professional activity andprofessional training are considered to be the most important resources of teacher’sknowledge of learners for both of the new teacher and the experienced teacher;(2)comparedwith the new teacher, the experienced teacher has a deeper understanding of the knowledge oflearners, and is good at thinking from the perspective of the formation of knowledge and theimpact on student study. According to the interview, the paper puts forward the proposals of cultivating teacher’sknowledge of learners:(1)enhance the teacher’s awareness and ability of development;(2)enrich the teachers’ professional activity;(3)provide the effective teacher professionaltraining in the hope of providing reference and help for teacher’s PCK improvement andteacher professional development.
