Composition is a highly important factor to examine the students’ comprehensive quality. The curriculum reform carried out in Hainan Province in 2004, and made a definite specification of composition teaching in the curriculum standard. However, junior secondary education in Hainan, especially composition teaching in rural junior high school remains worried. In view of the above, the author who teaching Chinese in rural junior high school, would like to find out the existing problems in the process of composition teaching in rural junior high school through investigation, and puts forward some constructive suggestions for the existing problems.The paper is divided into four parts. From the new situation of basic education reform and the importance of rural education reform in China, the first part discusses the significance of composition teaching in rural junior high school. The second part is to conduct investigation into the situation of composition teaching in four junior high schools in rural areas of Hainan by survey the teachers and students with on-the-spot investigation and questionnaire. Through the analysis of the questionnaire results, the third part finds out problems of composition teaching in rural junior high school of Hainan. According to the problems, the fourth part puts forward strategies to improve composition teaching, and make a good impact on improving the level of composition teaching in rural junior high school of Hainan.Through the questionnaire survey, field investigation, students composition instance, found that the countryside junior middle school thesis teaching problems of hainan province should be improved. Teachers must toward specialization, to new class instead of an opportunity to enhance the level of personal professional. Stimulate students’ interest in writing, the application of comprehensive practice in the teaching of the composition. Students is to strengthen reading consciousness, establish the confidence of writing, from imitation to innovation, and have to raise the level of writing.
