Parent-child communication is the process which parent and children exchange information, opinions, emotion and attitude, for the sake of getting trust and forming favorable parenthood. The parent-child communication is one of main methods to realize the family education function. This study used the qualitative research method, to gain the first-hand information of the actual situation of parent-child communication through interviewing probe. Then find the problems and influence factors of the parent-child communications and make recommendations in the aim of improving the condition of parent-child communication.By the grounded theory, the following conclusions:(1)The parent-child communication topic has become increasingly rich currently. Include not only the learning, school life, current events, hobbies, but also the stories of parents, the feeling and experience of parents in their life. The rich and varied parent-child communication topic contributes to promoting mutual understanding between parent and child and to maintain a good parent-child communication as well.(2)Compared with the parents, the parent-child relationship gives more influence to adolescents on communication initiative. It may be connected with motivation of communication.(3)Parent-child communication in good condition is mainly reflected in three aspect:first, parents and children experience positive feelings in the communication process. Second, the topic of communication is rich.Third, the way of communication is flexible.(4)Parent-child communication problems is mainly reflected in four aspects: first of all, parent and/or child experience negative feelings in the communication process. Second, the topic of communication is monotonous. Third, the parent insist on paternalistic communication attitude. Last, the communication mode which parents used is often ineffective, such as criticism or preach and so on.(5)From the parents’ perspective, the factors which influence the quality of parent-child communication include the difference in gender roles, personality characteristics, education concept, educational method, communication skills, personal experience, generation gap and estrangement between parent and children.(6)From the perspective of the children, the factors which influence the quality of parent-child communication include children’s gender, personality characteristics, stage of mental development characteristics, communication skills, study pressure, parenthood and so on.(7)Parent-child communication problems ease when parents update their education concept initiatively, study parenting knowledge positively, change their communication attitude, and use scientific and effective way of communication.
