With the development of the society and the implementation of educational reform in English teaching, teachers’collaboration in teaching is getting more and more attention from the public, which is one of the indispensable qualities of teachers. Teachers’ collaboration plays a significant role in improving teachers’professional development and the quality of the English teaching. Therefore, it is necessary to do the research on the English teachers’ collaboration in China. In this paper the author tries to grasp the current situation of English teachers’collaboration in middle schools, to explore the concrete ways of English teachers’ collaboration in English teaching, to investigate the existing problems or constraints factors in the implementation of collaboration and to put forward some strategies to enhance teachers’ collaboration. In this case, through the introduction of the theoretical and practical foundation of collaboration this paper helps English teachers realize the importance of collaboration in English teaching. Besides, based on the effective and targeted strategies to the existing problems, this paper offers some useful suggestions to the effective collaboration among English teachers, which may promote the professional development of the English teachers, improve the quality and the efficiency of English teaching; and offer some references for the further research on teachers’ collaboration. During the process of studying, documentary method, questionnaires, interviews, non-participant observation have been adopted to collect data and information. As for the result, the author summarizes the major findings into the following three parts. First of all, teachers’ collaboration ways can be classified into two groups:organizational collaboration and non-organizational collaboration. The organizational collaboration concludes collective lesson preparation, expert coaching in teaching, peer observation and evaluation, demonstration classes, teaching and research activities, etc. The non-organizational collaboration concludes daily communication after work, network communication and so on. Second, the existing problems in the specific implementation of collaboration can be summed up in the following aspects:there is a gap of varying degrees between cognition and behavior in the process of collaboration even if many English teachers have certain sense of collaboration; some kind of collaboration is just a form with low effectiveness; schools lack of effective measures to guarantee teachers’ collaboration; the collaborative atmosphere in shool is not so strong. Third, according to the existing problems and constraints to teachers collaboration, several strategies have been put forward to enhance teachers’ collaboration and their professional growth, like building collaborative teacher culture and providing a good collaborative atmosphere; utilizing management mechanism to guarantee teachers’ collaboration; choosing the concrete forms and contents of collaboration carefully and optimizing teachers’ collaboration process.What is more, according to the main findings of the research, some useful and beneficial implications for English teachers, school leaders and educators can be provided to promote teachers’ collaboration and development of English teaching.
