| Second year students are in adolescence period and gradually marching towards theiryouth period.Because of their self-consciousness and independent awareness making itsfirst faint showing at that stage,these students are trying to break the shackles of theChildren’s Behavior Pattern.However,their own limitations make it difficult to get rid ofdependence on their parents and families.During that phase,the cognition and conducts ofthe youth are easily affected by external environment, so that produce improper cognitionand conducts.This is the so-called “the Second Grade Phenomenonâ€.As the research object of this paper, junior high school sophomores of M MiddleSchool in Suzhou that come from migrant worker family.Their family background letthem show different features in their cognition and behavior.Due to their special familyenvironment and life experience, their demand of love and respect, sense of belong and selfdevelopment have not been fully meet.Through the investigation for these students, I findthat they have cognitive and behavioral deviation.Such as lower self assessment, rebelliousimpulses, poor adaptability and interpersonal difficulties etc.Social workers attempt toanalyses reasons of these problems in four aspects, including individual,family,school andthe society.Through group work intervention,social workers design six different themeactivities to integrate various resources of students.In the process of interventional group work, social worker should assess the effect ofeach activity.So that they could discovery some problems and deal with them timely.Inaddition, social workers need to coordinate the relationship between team members inorder to ensure the smooth development of their group.What’s the case in point is thatsocial workers should evaluate effectiveness of their intervention through comprehensiveuse of interviews, questionnaires, third party feedback and many other kinds of ways.In view of this,before and after measured data should be adopted.We may draw a conclusionthat growth group has significant positive impact on the improvement of cognitive andemotional development for the youth,and play an important role in correcting their deviantbehaviour. |
