In1978,the Alma-Ata Declaration of the United Nations put forward:each country must achieve the goal of "Health for All". Health inequalities become a much-talked-about topic on national or international scale after that. In the meantime, academia also launched a diamond fever of health inequalities. It is generally accepted that, sustainable economic and social development will bring about higher health standard and reduce the health gap between different groups. But the empirical researchs of the European countries since the1980s indicate that, economic and social development does not decrease the health inequalities, the advantageous social class will get more health benefits which generated from the economic development, thus the health gradient between different socioeconomic groups will be widened(Franzini, et al,2001;. Winkinson&Pickett,2008). As a consequence, along with the social and economic development imbalance being of increasing severity, health inequalities should receive an adequate attention.Under the subject of health inequalities, this dissertation explores the relationship between socioeconomic status and health inequalities.Research focuses on four major issues:First, analyze the influence of the nine indicators (education, income, occupational status, housing property, census register, sample area, self-assessment degree, intra-generational mobility and inter-generational mobility) of socioeconomic status on heath standard, we may find out that the health standard of Chinese residents differ by the socioeconomic status.Second, analyze the impact of socioeconomic status on healthy lifestyle. Third, analyze the effect of two healthy lifestyle factors which named the normal way and effective way lifestyle on health standard. Fourth, building the influence path of socioeconomic status, healthy lifestyle and health standard, we may get the research result that the indicators of socioeconomic status by influencing healthy lifestyles, further affecting the health standard of Chinese residents. This dissertation arrives at three main conclusions by using the logistic regression analysis:First, education and self-assessment degree have a lagged effect on the health standard with the relation exhibiting inverted U-shape. That means the education and self-assessment degree both have critical values, health conditions will gradually increased when residents get more education and higher degree of self-assessment before the critical values, and gradually decreased after the critical values. The relationship between sample area and health standard is similar to the inverted U-shape, residents in the central region have the highest level of health, followed by the eastern region, residents in the western region have the worst health condition. Why comes to the inverted U-shape distribution trend, we hold that it is because the pressure in modern life. Second, intra-generational mobility have a negative impact on health standard, residents who struggle to achieve a better socioeconomic status by themselves may pay a huge health costs. The influence of the inter-generational mobility on the health standard is just the opposite; those who get a higher status by the proud efforts of their fathers normally have better health conditions.Third, healthy lifestyle has a significant positive effect on health standard. And furthermore, education degree by influencing the residents’healthy lifestyle, further affects their health standard. Thus it can be seen that, by educational popularization of a healthy lifestyle, we will reduce the health inequalities of Chinese residents to some extent.
