Humanity attainment, falling under the category of human inner quality, consists the essential parts of man’s overall quality and involves many aspects such as sentimental attitudes, cultural personality, moral accomplishment, value orientation and aesthetic purport, and so on. As for many middle school students, to adapt to the changeable times and acquire all-sided development, they not only need to learn and master rich knowledge on science and culture, but also to cultivate profound humanity attainment.The author made a survey on some students who come from four schools(two senior high schools and two junior high schools) of "T" county in cental China. Based on the questionnaires, what the students have in humanity attainment is not profound. To some extent, it is even lacking. The following examples are worthy to be noted. Some students are lack of humanity knowledge, especially lacking further study of cultural classics. Some students are in the absence of strong humanity feelings so that in daily life they often give people less care or show less understanding to others, have weak sense of environmental protection and poor quality of self-education. While, for other students, their humanism is seriously restrained. Thus, they lose the motivation of pursuing truth, kindness and beauty, and do not rethink the significance of life. For this reason, the author conducted analysis of the problem. Additionally, some constructive countermeasures have been brought up to develop students’humanity attainment.This paper is made up of five parts. The first part is introduction, briefly expounding the reason, significance, ideas and methods of this research. The second part emphasizes the definition of related concepts of humanity attainment and the discussion of its connotation. In addition, the main contents of humanity attainment students possess will be concluded in this part. The third part, including a series of questionnaires, aims to know what degree of humanity attainment students have in current time. In the forth part, the author mainly analyses four reasons why students are lack of humanity attainment. They are illustrated as bellow, such as the rage of vulgar utilitarianism values, the deviation and obstruction of the exam-oriented education, the deconstructive influence of traditional culture and the disregard and restraints of spiritual education. The fifth part is concerned with the study of countermeasure aiming at cultivating students’humanity attainment. It is specifically mentioned as follows. Firstly, school education should be based on instructing people. Meanwhile, utilitarian education and humanistic education should be properly balanced. Secondly, the quality-oriented education should be advanced and the educational evaluation system should be reformed. Thirdly, we need to deepen the curriculum reform and highlight the humanity of courses. Lastly, we should strengthen spiritual education and promote students’ sentimental development.
