Middle school is an important stage for everyone, during which students are not only expected to grasp knowledge and skills which are nessary for their future life, but more important to grow up as a whole persons. The traditional education pay much attention to science but neglect the cultivation of Humanity spirit. Geography education is a comprehensive process which involves science education as well as humanity education. So it has irreplaceable superiority in the field of humanity education. Based on the latest researches in China and abroad, the writer carry on a futher study on middle school humanity cultivation in Geography Education.The whole thesis consists of three parts. The preface analyses the evolution of the relationship between human and its surroundings in the process of social development and the influence of social development on Geography courseA review on the development of Geography Education in China is also included.The second part is about the situation and problems of Middle School Geography Education in our country. The importance of Geography Education has not been fully recognized in China. Limitations on faculty, material and teaching process are to be blamed for inefficient cultivation of humanity.The third part is mainly about the necessity of humanism cultivation.how to excavate humanity spirit in Geography course, how to reform teaching method and how to promote humanity practice.
