The appropriate teaching is aimed to solve the problem of the excessive teaching. The so-called excessive teaching refers to in the classroom teachers to teach more than promote students further learning needs. It is the essence of a given type of teaching. It is mainly manifested in the overall planning, the instilled process and no problem in the end. The harm are as follows, hinder the development of the student’s learning ability, limit the development of the student’s subjectivity, damage the teacher’s teaching life and distort the body function of the teach. The main reasons are as follows, tie of the teaching epistemology, too simple to understand the relationship between the teach and the development, the bad influence of the scientific knowledge that seized the education, ignore the independence of the leaning and blindly exaggerate the function of the teach. Aimed at the problems of the excessive teaching, the so-called appropriate teaching refers to start from students’ questions and stop when reaching the scope of students’ understanding. It is a type of a minimum teaching. The main characteristics are problem-centered teaching, in other words teach moderate contents, the teaching methods are diversified, interactive, that is to say teaching time is appropriate. The necessity of the appropriate teaching are as follows, moderation is the natural demands of the teach, moderation is required that teaching can promote students’study, moderation is required that teaching can develop students’ physical and mental quality and the last moderation is the best choice that teaching to suit the knowledge-based society. The values are as below, to better the function of teaching in the modern society, to better to reorganize the student’s experience, can provide better conditions for students’personality development and the last can create conditions for teachers’intelligence development. The appropriate teaching is mainly based on the following theory, the internal cause and external cause of philosophy, the theory of knowledge acquisition method, the subjective activity of ethnology and the process attribute of education. The implementations of the appropriate teaching strategy are as below, lead students to learn first, do not teach that no need to teach, for the contents that need to teach, teaching directly when the contents of low complexity and teaching indirectly when the contents of high complexity.
