English grammar is playing an indispensable part in English learning.The traditional grammar teaching is both time and energy-consuming; and it has been frustrating the learners greatly. However, the results seem not to be as satisfactory as expected. Former studies related to English grammar always put stress on the leading role of teachers, neglecting the initiative and autonym of learners. Actually, nowadays, researchers have realized that the learner instead of the instructor plays the central role in learning and more attention should be paid to guide the students how to learn effectively. In recent years, research on learning strategies has achieved a lot, but the studies mainly focus on English grammar, reading or writing; very few are about grammar. So this paper is aimed to investigate the application of grammar learning strategies among senior high school students so as to provide them with some useful references on grammar learning.In this study interview and questionnaire are combined to investigate the application of grammar learning strategies of Senior high school students. After analyzing the data collected from the investigation by applying the software SPSS, we got the following results:(1) the frequency of overall application of grammar learning of senior students is in the relatively low range.(2) Judging from the means of the use of these strategies, students employed the affective strategies the most, cognitive strategies more, metacognitive and social strategies less, affective strategies the least.(3) Compared with Science students, Arts students use the resource grammar learning strategies more frequently with significance differences; students of Science show a more frequent use of the metacognitive grammar learning strategies than students of Arts but there does not exist remarkable differences.(4)Good grammar learners apply these strategies more frequently than poor grammar learners.According to the final results of the study, the paper put forward some suggestions for the teachers and students. At first, teachers should make efforts to change students’ misunderstandings about grammar. Second, it is necessary for the teachers to update the teaching concepts and strike a balance between teaching and students’learning.Third, it’s urgent to strengthen teachers’strategies awareness and equip them with systematic knowledge of learning strategies. Fourth, it is essential to conduct strategies training to the students.As far as learners are concerned, they ought to hold a positive attitude towards grammar learning and then try their best to use grammar learning strategies more frequently in their learning process. Thirdly, cooperative grammar learning should be enhanced.
