With college graduates surge as a result of expanding enrollment, China’s college graduates employment has become increasingly prominent, entrepreneurship has become a new way for college graduates to solve the employment problem, and the research on entrepreneurship education has entered a new stage. In developed western countries, entrepreneurship education has decades of history, and some countries have formed a relatively mature entrepreneurship education and supporting system. Entrepreneurship education in China began only in the late twentieth century, nevertheless with years of exploration and practice, it has become a hot topic in the higher education. However, due to lack of specific policy support, restricted curriculum, shortage of teachers and funding resources, and lack of practice platforms, at present many colleges and universities are facing implementation difficulties in the process of their entrepreneurship education. Local engineering colleges are higher engineering colleges with the cultivation of applied engineering and technical personnel for production and construction lines as the goal, and should serve the development of local economy through effective entrepreneurship education to train engineering talents, but it has been severely restricted by their own and external factors in the actual implementation process.Taking Q University as an example, through surveys and interviews, this paper carried out an investigation on the attitude of students from local engineering colleges towards entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial education, on entrepreneurship preparation, on demand and evaluation of entrepreneurship education, to understand the current status of entrepreneurship education in local engineering colleges. Combining analysis of restricting factors for implementaing entrepreneurship education in local engineering colleges with actual practice, policy suggestions of entrepreneurship education such as to change the school system, to clarify goals of entrepreneurship education, to improve entrepreneurship education system, to enhance the entrepreneurial education teachers and fund resources, to permeate the entrepreneurship education idea in various aspects, and to improve entrepreneurship education supporting policies have been put forward.
