The national ministry of education promulgated the "full-time compulsory educationgeography curriculum standards", which puts forward the basic ideas of modern geographyeducation. One of the most emphases is "learning useful geography for life". As the standardpromulgated, in our country, a lot of schools take part in full swing on the new idea of studyand research, and put forward the geography teaching into daily life.Life-oriented teaching of geography, refers to the geography teaching should focus onstudents’ life world, and teaching should be closely related to life reality, so as to make thestudents to understand and grasp the geography exists in the people’s side and the life ofpeople cannot leave without the geography. In order to enjoy the better life, we must learngeography.In the time of the new geography curriculum implementation, the author investigated thesituation of Life-oriented teaching of geography where in part of middle schools inZhangjiakou. By issuing teacher questionnaire and student questionnaire and consulting alarge number of literatures, collect the relevant information, and analyze the related datastatistics, the purpose is to understand the situation of the implementation of the Life-orientedteaching of geography in middle school. Through the analysis of the results of the survey, theauthor found that the innovation of geography teaching method and teaching mode have madesignificant achievements in Zhangjiakou. But in different schools, the actual teachingconditions are various, and the Education evaluation mechanism is old and single. Besides,the teachers’ cognition of the Life-oriented teaching of geography, the development andutilization of life resources, are all lack of practical experience. And the students have lessaccess to take part in the teaching practical of Life-oriented teaching of geography.Finally, the author puts forward some solving strategies to solve the problem that exist inthe life-oriented teaching of geography. Firstly, the school will provide geographic teachingconditions, and reform achievement evaluation mechanism. Secondly, geography teachersshould have the course view that return teaching to life, and create life teaching situation,strive for the life classroom language, strengthen exercises training into daily life. Again, the student should pay attention to geographical events all around, develop the research-typelearning and broaden the horizons.The Life-oriented teaching of geography, makes students understand that life is not farfrom us, and life is actually just by our side; Lets the students feel geography is not boring,but is fun and charming; So that the students can learn geography in the life, and constantlyimprove the quality of life by learning, however, create a better future life.
