The production of a composition is closely related to the involvement of thinking and thelevel of thinking determines the level of students’ thinking. It is just because of the feature ofbeing teachable and learnable that teaching composition becomes an important approach toenhancing the students’ thinking quality. Recently, with the development of information age,thinking being more complicated, it has been commonly held that students’ thinking qualityshould be trained while teaching. However, with this topic being attached greater importance,the field being worth studying and more problems are arising. From “senior high”, this certainangel, this thesis attempts to give analysis and suggestions on the problems of compositionthinking in senior high, based on “Argumentative writing thinking training”.The whole thesis falls into three chapters. The introduction part reveals the significanceof thinking training of argumentative writing in senior high school, the methods of the studyand the shining points. Chapter one gives a brief introduction of the current studies, relatedconcepts and the theoretical basis. Chapter two analyses the current study of the thinkingtraining on argumentative writing as well as book one to five from PEP2007in senior highschool and designs the teaching objectives and contents. Chapter three introduces theapplication strategies in teaching argumentative writing thinking training in senior high andmany cases are included in this analysis. By reflecting on the teaching process of thinkingtraining on argumentative writing, the thesis analyses the influencing factors of thinking andthe misunderstandings of employing thinking training.By analyzing the problems of argumentative writing thinking training in senior high aswell as the related contents in text books, this thesis is supposed to assume the teachingobjectives and contents of argumentative writing thinking training, and designs simple butpractical teaching strategies, attempting to help the students form a good thinking quality bysystematical thinking training on writing.
