The teaching of Chinese writing accounts for the most important part in senior high schools of our country; meanwhile, the teaching of argumentative writing is one of the emphases in teaching writing. Compared with that of narrative and prose writing, the teaching of argumentative writing is a bit easier to instruct, which can also be more effective. However, the present situation of the teaching of argumentative writing has aroused great worries. For example, the teaching is in a random order. There is no fixed teaching way or we can say, there is no teaching way. The majority of students' compositions take on such a look: The title is not like a title. The content can' t be coordinated with the title. Different types of writing are applied to in one composition. Different expressing ways are confused, the proportion of which is improper. And there is no clear arrangement in writing. The language can' t convey their feelings accurately. In such a background, after learning some relative theory, as well as my own teaching experience, I' ve put forward a pattern of the teaching of argumentative writing in senior high schools, which is both practical and effective, hoping that can evoke sympathy in other Chinese teachers and improve students' argumentative writing level.Having deeply thought about the teaching present situation and reasons for it, I' ve explained this teaching pattern in details and also put it into practice. This dissertation can be divided into six parts.Part I states the demands for the teaching of argumentative writing. It also deals with the present situation of teaching and the reasons for it.Part II explains the present situation of the research into the teaching of argumentative writing.Part III gives theoretical proofs.Part IV arranges the whole pattern, including teaching materials, strategies and experiment trial. Part V introduces the pattern and specific teaching practice in details, among which plate training is the most distinguishing feature.Part VI shows the experiment results and assesses the pattern by myself as well.
