“The straight wood doing beam, curved wood to make pear”.The successful educationcan made all the educated to obtaine adaptive education, and develop optimally. Since theimplementation of class education in our country, our country has been inheriting the unifiededucation. The traditional education pursues uniformity. Students listen to the same class, dothe same homework, answer the same examination papers. Like raw materials on theproduction line, they are processed congruously, and tested by the college entranceexamination finally, which is called "authoritative examiner teacher ". Qualifiers can go outthe factory, but those who fail will be eliminated. And through the teaching practice, educatorsgradually found that most of the students who is eliminated, have obvious gaps with othereducatees in front of the unified evaluation, and do not obtaine adaptive education. At presentour country is large class education, students are different by innateness and postnatal, intelligence factors and non-intelligence factors, body and mind. And some of the differencesare quite obvious. The unified education neglects the differences of students, which will causesome students do not adapt to the education, play their advantage, make up their defects, andthey will be buried by the teaching finally. The unified education hinders the developmentof students seriously. The differentiating instruction persists human-oriented, which can makethe education to succeed. The differentiating instruction is a complex system, which design the teachingcomprehensively: recognizing and respecting the differences is the premise, theimplementation of differentiating instruction is the process, the different development ofstudents is the goal. Each link of the differentiating instruction connects together, in order toplay its due effect of the differentiating instruction, and appear the phenomenon of "1+1>2",we must take every step required. The differentiating instruction can implement therequirement of quality education, realize the genuine educational equity, practice the basicconcept of the geography new curriculum reform, and optimize the modern geographyclassroom. The author through a series of researches, combined with half year of high school geography teaching practice, sums up the "seven steps" teaching strategy of high schooldifferentiating instruction in geography. And in order to ensure the "seven steps" teachingstrategy works better, we must adhere to the "five principles" and deal with the "six relations"in the process of implementing. The author puts forward some practical measures to thegeneral middle school geography teachers as references. This paper is divided into four parts:In the first part, the author introduces the research background and research significanceof this article, analyzes the present research status and theoretical basis of differentiatinginstruction, puts forward the definition of differentiating instruction, at the same timeillustrates the research method and technical route of this subject. In the second part, the author analyses the current situation of high school differentiatinginstruction in geography, summarizes the success of current differentiating instruction, as wellas the existing problems, through provides the questionnaire approaches to the high schoolgeography teachers, and interviews with the high school students. In the third part, based on the present situation analysis of the high school geographicdifferentiating instruction, the author advocates the "five principles": subjective principle、principle of using the difference skillfully、principles of consciousness in advance、dominantprinciple、dynamic principle; the "seven steps" teaching strategy: understand the differenceof students----design cleverly----teach ingeniously----design homework----guidancedifferently----make up lacks-----evaluate differently. In the fourth part, the author has carries on the practice of the "seven steps" teachingstrategy of high school differentiating instruction in geography, analyzes the success of thepractice, puts forward the problems in the process of practice, and puts forward the "sixrelations" which the "seven steps" teaching strategy needs to deal with:"two polarizations "and the "middle"、"teacher’s explain" and "student’ practice"、"theory" and "practice"、"cooperative learning" and "independent learning"、"deep" and "shallow"、"loose" and "tight".
