Postgraduate education, as the top of the national education system, represents a country’s higher education level. Part-time and full-time postgraduate education jointly builds Chinese postgraduate education system, improving the degree system and postgraduate education. Part-time postgraduate education aims to cultivate high-level applicable talents and improve their professional competence and knowledge. Paper-writing aims to enhance the ability to solve practical problems, which focused on the mastery and application of theoretical knowledge and emphasized sociality and practicability.Part-time postgraduate students studied in the university without leaving their jobs, which is the main learning way for them to combine and balance work and study. Great age span and complex professional identity and scattered specialties and weak basic knowledge were the key factors that made the academic paper guidance restrict the part-time postgraduate education quality. This study aimed to find out the current problems in part-time postgraduate education based on the above factors and their learning characteristics. This study surveyed and analyzed from the five aspects:tutors" guiding content, guiding frequency, guiding influence and guiding evaluation in the part-time postgraduate students’thesis. Reality basis would be provided through data analysis and reasonable suggestions could be proposed to perfect part-time postgraduate education.This study chose the part-time postgraduate students majored in education master of grade2006-2013in southwest university as the questionnaire survey respondents. The questionnaire design included five dimensions:tutors’guiding content, guiding frequency, guiding evaluation and guiding influence in the part-time postgraduate students’thesis.SPSS19.0was used in the data statistics and analysis. The postgraduate tutors were interviewed on the problem reflected from the questionnaire results, which comprehensively analyzed their guidance on the students "thesis. The survey results showed the following problems:single-facted guiding content and simplex guiding method and low guiding frequency existed when tutors guided their students’thesis; the part-time postgraduate students thought that only a small part of the tutors were strict with their thesis and the tutors" guidance were lack of proactivity; at the same time, tutors also considered that as the part-time postgraduate student didn’t attend the course on time, their theoretical knowledge was weak and lack of scientific methods with the unserious learning attitude. Therefore, this study put forward countermeasures and suggestions two aspects:improving part-time postgraduate student education management and perfecting tutors’guiding work, in order to improve the education quality of part-time postgraduate students.
